E-Brida software as a service
In the past few years software as a service has gained in popularity fast. For example doing banktransactions is a broadly accepted software as a service. The E-Brida breeding software is a client-server application at this moment. This is a well balanced decision in the development of the software, advantages of this situation are:
- all confidential information stays within the breeding company
- good performance when working with large amounts of data
- not depending on an internet connection when working in the field- or greenhouse*

* Internetconnections that are available throughout your whole company are not standard yet. Even if there is a GPRS or UMTS network available, within a greenhouse the connection speed hardly exceeds GPRS speed. Covering your company with a wifi network is still relatively expensive.
